Samsung signs streaming deal with Quickflix

SAMSUNG users will soon enjoy unlimited movies following a deal announced today with online DVD rental company Quickflix.

According to Samsung, the app is expected to be made available in the coming months. 

“Samsung is thrilled to join forces with Quickflix, Australia’s leading online movie rental company – offering customers a comprehensive on demand content on Samsung Smart TVs and across a broad range of other devices,” Brad Wright, national sales and marketing manager, Samsung Electronics Australia said.

The service will offer Samsung customers the option to sign on to the Quickflix all-you-can-watch subscription service, which offers approximately 300 movies at any time, and cycles in new movies for old movies every month. A membership in this service will cost AU$14.99 per month after a once-off AU$12.99 registration fee. Quickflix also offers on-demand content, which ranges in price up to AU$9.99 per download.

Samsung said Quickflix’s movie streaming service would be available on the Galaxy S, SII, W, Note, Tab 7.0, Tab 7.01, Tab 7.7, Tab 8.9, and Galaxy Tab 10.1, as well as 2010 and post-2010 Samsung LED, LCD. Plasma TVs, Blu-ray and home theatre systems that are internet enabled.

Samsung Electronics Australia's national sales and marketing manager, Brad Wright, said: "Samsung recognises Australians' growing demand for exceptional content streamed into their living rooms and plans to announce further exciting and innovative services throughout 2012."
